Trying to workout proper use while on shore power and underway (engine off) with a Heart Interface Freedom 10 inverter / battery charger.
Current set up is position 1 on battery selector is for the 2 house batteries
Position 2 is the engine start battery
Note: I have a refrigerator that plugs into a cabin plug that runs on shore power with batteries switched to off and 120 shore power on regardless if cabin plugs are turned on. Ice box has been converted to refrigeration but only runs on DC, with or without shore power on and refrigerator must be switched ON, on DC panel.
Currently for shore power while not on the boat I leave the AC off, plugged in and batteries off with inverter/charger on. Refrigerator runs, ice box does not.
While on shore power and using the boat, AC switched to ON, DC to position one and what should I do with the inverter? What about under way and engines off?
Hope I am explaining this clearly enough. Thanks!
