I need some info please. What is the headroom of the O'day 28. Also, does this boat have a full rear berth? If not, any other boats (older boats) that have nice headroom and full rear berth that are fairly inexpensive. thanks alot, Todd

Headroom and rear berth

The headroom in the 28' )'day is close to 6'3". Not too bad for us tall people! The "rear berth" (Quarter Berth) is an extremely spacious single....if you are a thin 6'3" and your significant other is equally thin, I suppose you can both sleep there...but it is cramped. O'day did make an older 32', aft cabin that was nice (37' configured similarly) and the newer 32' as well as the 39'and 40' boats had a "large aft state rooms. Hope this helps!

Oday 28 Headroom

I've got a 1985 28, I'm about 6'1" and I can't quite stand up straight in the cabin so I'm not sure about the 6'3" head room, at least in that year. Hasn't been a problem, though. The roominess of the cabin is one of the things we like best - the fold-down dining table is a huge plus for us.

6' EVEN

Todd, I have a '85 O28 and have an even 6 feet of head room in the center of the main salon. The head has about 5'10" in the center but is still comfortable for a 6 footer to shower in. The quarter berth is roomy for the off watch as long as the off watch is just one person. It makes a great playpen for toddlers or a really "cool" dungeon for the grandson. We've only had her for 3 months but already are very pleased with our "new" boat. Happy Hunting, PM
