Have any Prout owners had a good job done on replacing the headlining in their Quest/ Snowgoose/Event Any recommendations for supplier/fitters operating around the central south coast of the UK would be welcome. Any advice or warnings associated with this job would also be welcome.

Headliner headaches

We're working on a stateroom in our Prout 38. We're using headliner material with headliner foam purchased at a cloth shop and 3M heavy duty spray glue. Spraying both the foam backing and the fiberglas and letting it get tacky like contact cement seems to work... still don't know how the heat will affect it. Our problem was letting moisture (a window leak) get under the headliner and then cook with the sun. Sailrite (the sewing maching company) had headliner materials too; haven't used them. Bruce

Horrible job

This is a terrible job. I totally redid my Snowgoose 37 about 2 years ago in Trinidad. First, get the old out and get the wall as clean as possible. Then apply 1/4" good quality foam to the walls with good contact cement. then attach the vinyl to the foam. There is a lot of stretch to the vinyl and it needs to be tensioned pretty good. On panels the method is different. Staple the foam to the underside. Then stretch and staple the foam to the panel. Good luck.
