head mistress: I'm in need of a plumbing schematic suitable to use on an H34. Starting from scratch.

Can't provide a "one size fits all" schematic...

Too many variables even in identical make model boats. However, I can provide you with guidelines to follow that should make it fairly obvious what you need to do on your own boat Unless you're building a boat or have a completely gutted bare hull, and only referring to the H34 as comparable, I doubt that you're actually starting from scratch...all production boats big enough to have toilets etc had them. Start by reading the articles in the Head Mstress Reference Library, e-mail me (peghall@bellsouth.net) with a few more details and questions, and I'll be glad to help you select the right toilet and spec out the sytem that's most appropriate for your use and the waters you're in.

Try the West Marine Catalogs

They have four or five schematics for installations with and without holding tanks, y valves, mascerator pumps, ect. The method you choose depends a lot on where you are using the boat. Barry

WM catalog schematics...

actually create more problems than they solve. I've been doing this for nearly 15 years...in my experience "one size fits all" schematics seldom fit one, much less all. All you have to do is look at their recommended vent line to see that it actually encourages odor problems..,and even they compare at least one of their "recommended" installations to Chernobyl.West Marine ONLY addresses holding tanks, doesn't even consider Type I or II treaqtment device installations.l.. Nor do they suggest which head is best for a particular installation...and there are a number of issues which make the choice of head the primary issue, which is the first thing that must be decided before doing anything else.
