Hello All,

I'm headed to Sardis Lake in June with my trailer sailer for a week. I was hoping that someone had recent experience that they would share.

I plan to put in at Engineer Point on the upper lake and overnight at Sardis
Lake Marina.

In addition to general information I have these questions.

Are there any other marinas or places to anchor towards the far end of the lake?

Are any of the online maps up to date? Electronic or otherwise. I primarily use navionics.

Any must see locations on the lake?

How about great anchor locations?

Yes, I searched the forums: all the threads were old or didn't have answers to my questions.
No, it's not my first post.
I know, the answer is it depends.

I kept a boat at Sardis Marina for a few years, until 2012. The marina is a nice facility and as a transient you should get the key to the big restroom and showers. There is a store onsite, but I'm not sure what they currently stock. They used to serve food as well.

There are no other marinas on the lake, and any of the coves are good for anchoring. We usually stayed on the south side. There are some homes on the north shore. Where to go varies a lot with the lake level. In June the lake should be pretty full. If you want to go ashore just look for a "beachy" area. Nothing I would call "must see".

For navigation just pick up a lake map with contours at either the onsite store or any nearby store that has fishing supplies.

I've never boated in the area, so I won't be helpful from that point of view, but if you use Navionics, have you checked out the community features on the charts? I looked quickly on the webapp and it didn't seem like there was any info posted for points of interest (looking for those hot pink circles) but it's possible the app or chartplotters show more, maybe. And if not, you can make some community edits and post places you liked/marinas/fuel docks/etc. so you can help out others with future trips (+1 for crowd sourcing!)
