After what seems like forever, finally have a good looking weather window to head for Isla Mujeras in the morning. There have been several times when I would have headed out if I were 20 years younger. But these days, I just can't do 4 days of rough stuff. So, instead of heading out with forecasts of 15 to 20 or more and 4 to 6 foot seas,or more, have just waited it out. And finally have a forecast for the next 5 days that is acceptable. Maybe a somewhat slow passage as winds are predicted to be somewhat light, but at this age, comfort matters.
Incidentally, you may recall had the bow light out the other night. It was from West Marine, purchased here in Ft.Meyers last June, after the other one got gone in a thunderstorm. Was corroded inside so bad, the bulb wouldn't make a decent contact. My intentions were to replace it with something else, meaning better, but was talking to the guy at West Marine, and he replaced it for free. Of course with the same model light. So will use this one till it's used up, then find something better. I don't particularly like West, but they do sometimes go above and beyond. The label on the package says for warranty it must be returned to the manufacturer for any warranty claim.
