smelly head

I had a similar problem. Installing a vacuflush system which uses fresh water solved the odor problem and is much more user friendly.

flapper valve...

Your flapper valve is worn out. You're probably due to rebuild your pump. I bought a whole new pump this sping, so now I have a spare that I can rebuild while my toilet is still in operation. You should also make sure the tank vent is unobstructed.

JOKER VALVE

WHEN I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM IT TURNED OUT TO BE THE "JOKER VALVE" WHICH SEEMS TO BE A FANCY WORD FOR MARINE HEAD CHECK VALVE. IT ALLOWS STUFF TO ONLY FLOW ONE WAY. LUCKILY NOT A HARD THING TO REPLACE. IT IS WHERE THE DISCHARGE HOSE LEADING TO THE HOLDING TANK CONNECTS TO THE TOILET. EVEN THE FIRST TIME IT TOOK LESS THAN 5 MINUTES TO REPLACE. IF YOUR PROBLEM IS THE SAME AS MINE, REPLACE THIS JOKER VALVE ASAP. IF IT GETS ANY WORSE THE TOILET WILL OVER FLOW. IN THE MEAN TIME YOU MAY WANT TO KEEP THE HOLDING TANK PUMPED OUT. GOOD LUCK!

Replacing joker valve

My head was smelling also, instead of rebuilding I'm replacing with Wilcox Crittenden Newport. I had a WC head on my other boat and have become spoiled. paulj
