Head Pump Out

I recently purchased a 1984 Hunter 31. The deck pumpout cap is a quick-disconnect design as opposed to a threaded cap. It requires the use of a special adapter to pump out the head, and it is a pain to use. Can anyone advise me about the wisdom of and the steps involved in changing to a threaded fitting?

West Marine

Go to West Marine and buy a new deck pupmout port.I replaced all three (diesel,water,holding tank)of my ports with the white nylon type that requier no tools to remove the caps. They are color coded, black=head,red=diesel,blue=water and cost less than $20 apiece.If you have the extra cash, they also come it stainless steel w/color coded caps.Hope this helps.
