installing my new holding tank on the port side of the v-berth against the back side of the bathroom wall. coming off the top of the tank into the cavity behind the bathroom sink then up to the pump out fitting on the portside deck. do i need some sort of trap in the piping so when i'm heeled to port, i don't get discharge out of the deck fitting. the pump out fitting installed in the tank is on the side closet to the center of the boat and there is a pickup tube installed.

Short answer: no.
A trap will cause more problems than it would solve, even if it were needed. The only other thing I can suggest is that your vent fitting also be closest to the centerline.
