as we were leaving the boat late last night my wife used the head one last time. when she began the standard hand pumping she noticed there wasn't any suction in the handle. i checked the open/close switch and tried it in both positions, but nothing. it sounded like it was sucking air. i also closed the head pick up but still nothing. we didn't have time to check any of the lines last night so i thought i would ask everyone here if they have esperienced anything like this and what might be the reason... it is a new manual head that worked perfectly last year... thanx... J&R

Catalina 400 Sandusky
We're also having poblems with the head on recently purchased Catalina 400. Previous owner have the heads plumbed for fresh water flush which is fine with us. The problem being they won't take in any water. He has checked all fittings, hoses and handles with no results. I think the one actually worked a few times, then it also quit taking in water, and yes there's plenty of water in tanks. Any suggestion appreciated. Thanks

Jack...and Sailaway

Jack, I think your problem is a failed wet/dry "valve" (cam, actually). The lever no longer moves it...it's stuck in the dry position. Try jiggling the lever and working it...if that doesn't work, call Jabsco tech support. Sailaway...in order for a toilet designed use to pressurized flush water, the fresh water pump has to be on. If that's not your problem, I need more details.
