I had the dealer install a marine head with holding tank two years ago when I bought my Hunter 25. To date, we have not used the head as we mainly day sail. Do have I to do any maintenance on the head or seals?

yes you should use it every once in a while to keep the seals and the pump lubricated. I prescribe a couple of nice cold beers next time you go out. You may have some more fun too. Make sure you add chemicals and lubricant and pump it out either at sea or at pump station but do use it.

Lubrication the only maintenace maybe needed
If the pump pumps smoothly--no squeaking, easy to pump--you don't need to do anything. But Benny is right...you need to use it, 'cuz lack of use is far more destructive to ALL equipment than continuous--even hard continuous use. You'll need to use a product in the tank to prevent odor...I think Odorlos is your best choice. Be sure to follow directions if you want it to work.
