Head Door

Don,

My H 34 "85" has a door on the head and a door on the forward birth, which does not fit correctly. At one point my head door as moved as you described but for some reason I moved it back to the head. I think to give privacy and keep the vanity open to access. This original just seems to work better.

I find it quite tight in there with the door closed and figure this would open the area up. I never shower in there but I could put up a shower curtain across the opening if I started.

I have an 84/34.You can take the door off.Or do what I did.I got another door that closed off the salon from the front of the boat.So now you can now have more room to move about in the V.It really helps to have the door when we have guest.We actually use our head and shower.So it's added privacy.I can say it was one of the best additions to the boat.Sorry I don't have a better pic at this time.

Spraygun-really like what you did with the dining table, making it smaller and adding a settee on the starboard cabin wall. Can you still lower the table to make an extra berth? Great job.

Yes the table still lowers right into place.It is the same size as the opening.

Wow, can't compete with Spraygun. That is beautiful workmanship for sure. My wife made a curtain that we keep open with some ties made of the same fabric. She found a little extendable curtain rod that is attached to the little teak trim on the forward side of the support beam. We can untie the two ties and stretch it across the opening. Good for separating the area after showering (we use it). Also, if someone gets up in the middle of the night to read, it blocks the light from shining forward into the v-berth.

You can just see the blue fabric in the picture next to the sink. Excuse the mess. We were relocating our batteries under the settee and all the cushions were stuffed forward.

the previous owner did that on my 86 H34. I'm torn at the moment as to whether I like it or not. I know it's tight with the door so close to the head, but with the new door between the salon and head (including the sink area), no one can get to the vberth if the head is being used.

Spray gun-when you made the new settee behind the dining table did you use the measurements from the port settee?

I actually tore out the complete port side from the hull up and replaced the water tank,water pump, cushions,and cabinetry that supports all of that.Then I took the cushions and wood and filled in the difference on the starboard side.I had an upholstery shop do the cushions.see pics.
