Ahem. From time to time, we read that V32's are a tad slow. Well, the V32 Attitude Adjustment just took first over the finish line in class and second on handicap (PHRF 189) with a time of just under 30 hours in the Marina del Rey to San Diego 4th of July race, and with light winds to boot. So there. Rick Dinon

Advice on Catalina?

Rick, I've posted an inquiry to this site re: Catalina Island charters. From the sound of your post, it seems you are sailing the area my wife and I are interested in trying to charter during Aug.27-28-29. We own a 28.5 Hunter here in Texas, but want to gain some ocean experience and check-out Catalina at the same time. Any opinion or experience with "Seamist Skippers" or "Marina Sailing"? Any other thoughts or advice? Thanks in advance, Marc

Fast Vision 32

Am not sure where the idea that Vision's 32 are slow, I also placed well in a 24 hour race with all kinds of weather, from zero ro 30-35 knots of wind. We placed first overall (2nd PHRF) and in another similar race we placed third overall (2nd PHRF) behind a Jeanneau 1080 ''Selection''. Amnot happy with PHRF rating of this Jeanneau 1080 who claims that it is 155 against our Vision 32 of 164, can anyone help me rectifying this rating. No one seems to know this boat, it is also rigged 7/8. Thanks, in advance J.B. Hrab
