Have you ever played the game something doesn't match the others

So I am replacing my spinnaker halyard that was damaged like so many other things back in January and I realize that one of these things do not match the others.....

Now the problem is, this is the only detail in the Hunter 280 owners manual.

I have a several of questions
1. Does anyone have a better expanded detail of this?

2. How is this anchor point normally held together?

3. Will I need to drop the mast to fix this?

I am thankful this is a spinnaker halyard and I do not own a spinnaker.

Looks like a previous owner must have broken the tang or stub that held the original block in place and replaced it with the eye you see there now. A shackle with a clevis pin going through the stud on the block should be all you need to attach the block back to the eye. No need to drop anything. The shackle should not be much bigger than it needs to be to fit the stud between its arms. If the clevis pin is too long (if the arms of the shackle have too big an opening) the block may slide around on the clevis pin and create pressure points that could break the shackle. This may be why the shackle that apparently was there is not there now. Or it could be that a screw-pin was used instead of a clevis with a cotter pin. Pins that screw in can occasionally vibrate loose.

Crusty. This is your opportunity to visit a chandler in your area. Also known as a sailor’s candy store. Take the part parts in and let them show you solutions to your need.

When your boat was I construction, salesmen from makers of blocks: Schaefer, Lewmar, Harken etc. seeking to struck a deal as the supplier of blocks for your boat and Boats like it. You are now in the same position. To strike a deal for the blocks you want on your boat.

Get blocks that make you proud to have them in your boat.

The other blocks shown in that photo don't look to be in the best of shape either. You may want to see if you can get a bulk discount... ;)

I have a several of questions
I haven't seen answers to all your questions....

1. Does anyone have a better expanded detail of this?
I don't, but I'm not sure why you need one. You have the parts in your hands, and that schematic seems adequate to me. But that's just me...

2. How is this anchor point normally held together?
The attachments into the base look like you might want to make friends with a machinist. Or if you are handy, make those yourself. It looks to me like you probably have a square nut that slides into the slot and then you thread that eye bolt into it. I think you are going to have a difficult time finding those as off the shelf products.

3. Will I need to drop the mast to fix this?
I doubt it.

p.s. I think I just found the bolts you might need - you'll have to determine your size:

I see a screw behind the new spinnaker line. That suggests to me that you can remove the screws and slide the mounting plate upwards to get to the bottom nut then reattach the mounting plate. Maybe?

That eye looks bad, like it's just a wood screw threaded eye from the hardware store. What is it threaded into? The deck? I'd want that out of there pronto, and would want a proper repair made to the deck to prevent water from getting into the core.

If the mast needs to come down to make proper repairs, so be it.

The eye bolt just flops, it does not appear to be screwed into the gelcoat or fiberglass. Someone mentioned a flat square not and I am thinking along the same lines at this point. Eye bolt, square nut and a good drop of Loctite is my best guess.
