We have to move our boat across the country (RI to CA) and we are looking for any recommendations on boat shippers. We have a new 33 and will not be able to (or want to) pull it behind the family wagon. Any recommendations on shippers?

We can recommend a mover in NY

There is a fantastic mover in Upstate NY (moved my father-in-laws Niagara 35 from Sarasota to the 1,000 Islands). Email me if you don't find anyone in RI. ericl@communiquedesign.com

Boat transport

I just recently moved my 37c from Annapolis to San Diego. I used Joule Yacht Transport in Fla. I did all the prep work and planned on being there for the loading, but they changed the pickup day (plus 3 days) the day before they were to arrive. (supposedly a breakdown) so I had to leave. I was upset, but they did a good job loading the boat and it arrived quickly (4 days..2 days early) and no problems. They actually were one of the few that would even give a specific pickup day, most gave a 2 week window. They were insured for 1 mil, it's important to verify this. Here is their website: http://www.jouleyacht.com/ This is a good site to get some general info on any carrier. Not sure how accurate it really is. http://www.safersys.org/about.shtml I have no affiliation with Joule Yacht Transport. Use at your own risk, your mileage may vary, etc etc... Good luck on the move. If you plan on prepping the boat yourself, there is a lot of helpful information in the archive.

Check with Casey's in Newport

They can probably recommend a local shipper.
