Well guys today is a really big day for me. This afternoon I will
drive a little over 200 miles to my Albin Vega, SeaLegs. The coming
week will be spent putting a second coat of white and grey paint on her
decks and cabin sides. I will install the new mahogany hatches I built
over the winter in the cockpit. Bend on the sails and dodger put new
curtains in the cabin. I'll fill the water tank, start up the engine and
motor to the travel lift. I will spend long moments admiring her lovely
bottom while she hangs in straps. I am really looking for a week free of
the Internet, tv, news and all the other winter wasting things in favor
of messing with my boat for a week. I will be getting her ready for the
last week in May when I will take my two grown daughters sailing for a
week. I will take my two sons in June. The later will be a harder weeks
sailing as the men will want to sail across the bay in a Northeaster or
race every sailboat in site. Great fun but all hard work. The girls
want to sail all day in light breezes and anchor in quiet coves when the
wind blows. Both trips are looked forward to by me, and will be great
fun in different ways. I have to confess I like most taking the girls.
