Good Carpenter

A good carpenter shop should be able to build a hatch cover in 2 to 3 hours if you take in the old one. Make sure they use the same type of wood

Hatch for 33

I take it you have your old one for measuring? Mine is 3 pcs. using a heavy Lexan smoke colored for the middle hatch. Question is do you want one, two, or three piece hatches? Does yours have a lock for it or just a hasp for a key or combo lock? We have a guy called Hibdon Lumber that gets his wood from Guatemala and picks the trees himself. Raw wood in so many varieties really makes a great option for a hatch. He has all kinds of woods in all densities and widths and colors and lengths. I bought an AFI drink holder for $48 and broke it 3 times. I bought one piece of teak 4.5" wide and about 5' long for $8 and made the drink holder the same as before and the thickness is twice as the other. It will not be broken again. Have a little fun and make one yourself or take your hatches with the wood to a cabinet shop and get it done properly. It is one of those seamanship images that give the boat a proper look at port. Good hunting! Steve
