hatch raising system for a 19

I just bought a mac 19 and the hatch is hinged on one side, with a very untrustworthy support to hold it open. Otherwise the hatch is very similar to the older 22's I've seen. Has anyone out there installed a hatch raising system on a 19? Would one for the 22's fit the 19's hatch? Thanks for any and all ideas! Jayne
