Hatch Covers

Does Hunter have hatch covers available? If not, are they available elsewhere?

I want to cover the deck hatches on a 41DS to prevent crazing from UV exposure.

I purchased my sunbrella hatch covers right here on SailboatOwners.com. I have had them for three years. They were made to fit my lewmar hatches and have performed very well.

I bought...

a complete set of hatch covers for my H34 here on the Sailboat Owners Chandlery. Look under canvas products--they had multiple sizes for many of the standard size hatches. Mine fit snugly and significantly reduce the heat gain from the mid-summer sun, but I don't use them to cut crazzing--a minor point on a twenty six year old boat.

We made covers that go on the inside of each hatch. We use velcro on the corners that I screw into the plastic frame. They work great but would not help with the crazing.

I stand corrected Frazzle...

just checked the Canvas Shop in the Parts tab and there are no longer hatch covers listed there as products available for purchase. They aren't listed as an accessory under Hatches either.

Shame, 'cause the ones I bought are holding up well (but were a little "pricy").

See one of your local canvas shops to see if they'll make you a set.
