I purchased a 1981 Hunter 25 about a year ago. It looks like the hatch boards where remade out of regular plywood and have started to come apart. Anyone know of a source for replacements? Thanks.

I used the old ones for a template and made the new ones out of marine grade plywood. You may want to consider other materials, such as corean or lexan, depending on your uv exposure. simple job. Hope this helps, regards, Jim.

Something to think about.

Personally I would not use plywood, but that is just my preference. Think about using plexiglass for the top and the bottom board. These are the ones that most of the abuse from the weather. Then you can use wood for the middle section/s. The plexiglass will allow additional light in and is very strong. It is also quite heavy, so before you make a large section out of plexiglass, keep that in mind.

I agree, not plywood. My boats original boards were half teak and half lexan (total of 4). I replaced the teak with lexan for max light and strength. Bought them from Hunter but they can be easily made yourself.
