I have had my 1981 H30 since December 2000. Overall, I like the boat, and it is a much better performer than the last boat I had (Westerly 26). However, I do not like the traveler and the main sheet pully that is mounted on the cabin top. My problem with the traveler is that the jam cleats that it has (I assume the entire rig is original, it looks it!) do not lend themselves to fast, smooth tacking. I would think cam cleats would do a better job, but I am open to suggestions. Also, the main sheet pulley on the cabin top, port side. It seems to me that this pully hinders starboard tack performance, as it limits how far to starboard I can get the boom. Has anyone installed a better system? Does anyone have pictures they can post? I am looking for ideas and suggestions for a better rig. Thanks!
