I have to replace the fuel cable on a 1984 31, Is there anything that I need to know about this? As in, is there a clamp in the wheel housing that holds the cable from slipping? Any help will be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks.

fuel cable

There was a clamp on mine, it was visible when you open the starboard hole. mine was real stiff and I lossened the clamp and squirted wd-40 on both ends of the cable and it loosened up to where it works fine now, I don't know if you can get that lucky with yours.

Screw on the pedestal.

Mark: As I remember there is a screw that you can see on the forward side of the pedestal (maybe half way down) This holds the housing for the cables (shifter & throttle). Just remember what comes out needs to go back. This CAN be a real pain. Only loosen it enough to get the housing loose. Be sure to get the best cable around (Morse & Teleflex are suppose to be good). You also want to examine your radius bends and make sure that the cable that you get is capable of making these sharp radius.
