Has anyone got a pre trip saftey checklist?

and a general camping/ weekending check list. Also a sail plan layout. The ones I remember seeing and downloading were in PDF form that could be over written. I had these but they have been lost when I got a virus and put a new OP on my computer. I have seen these online somewhere but have just spent an hour looking and ... nothing.
I think I copied them from this site at one point. Oh so many sailing sites.....
Any links would be great!
Thanks.

I have a BlackBerry Torch and Android Tablet. I didn't even think of looking in the app store. Thanks.

Hi Stu the 2nd link isn't working. I mean the one to down load it. I can't email the author because I'm not a Catalina owner member. Maybe some day...

I wrote up a guest safety check list for new passengers to remind me of what to cover - mob procedure, life vests, where to sit, can you swim? BTW - no swim no sail, no exceptions.

If I'm the only sailor on board, my mob instructions cover what to do if 'I' go overboard - that is, how to release all the sheets.

Because of my job, emergency preparedness is very important to me. Usually while I'm going through the routine of preparing the boat, any new passengers are given my Emergency Operations Plan which outlines vessel information, locations of vests, throwables, fire ext, first aid and signalling equip. It gives the procedures for MOB, fire, loss of steering/power, storms, medical problems, vessel in peril and has the dialog for distress transmissions as well as a diagram of the boat with locations of equipment, thru hulls and exits. They can look it over while I'm doing my thing and then I give them the basic rundown. I keep the book by the radio in case someone needs it if I'm unable to give instructions.

I know it's crazy but, like I said I used to have to write EOP's and figured it would be a good reference for people who have no boat experiences.

Check lists? It seems like the more often I go on a trip the smaller the written checklist gets. At present I believe I check to see if the navigations lights are working and I'm done. Planning for the trip, of course I do, from navigation to provisioning things are carefully thought out but keep a list just to check for things that are always in the boat seems pointless. The boat is always kept ready, the refrigerator is on and the beer is cold. I keep the fuel tank at least 2/3 full. Don't have to worry about the Federal Placards, I made sure they were there when I purchased the boat. Things seem to check out themselves; I turn instruments on and if they come up I start the engine. Engine on I go, engine don't start I don't. Sometimes I retreive the fenders before leaving other times I pick them up after I'm out in the Bay. I keep the raw water intake open all the time so no worry there. Visitors get a thorough drill on how to use the head. Emergency procedures are covered but realize chaos will ensue in a real emergency. For that reason I will not carry visitors without at least one other person that can sail. When I single handle I do it on my own. Checklists might be critical on an airplane as a small lapse of memory can cause disaster but in a sailboat nothing really happens fast.
