I removed the CB on my 95 H26 today to repair the leading edge and replace the uphaul line. I found the plastic bushing for the pivet pin worn and the epoxy around the bushing gone, out to about 3/4" from the bushing edge. I plan to glass onto the leading edge and around the bottom curve some new cloth sweeping back from the edge about 2 inches. Should I replace the center bushing or glass matt around the original? Also if I replace the bushing what would be the best material to use? PVC, poly, tygone etc? Could a stainless bushing be used as I have the ability to fab one up? Thanks. Ray S/V Speedy PS. I dropped the CB by suspending the boat bunks about 4 feet up and dropped the trailer frame to the ground. Took about 4 hours and the installation should take about the same. If you need to do the same then E-mail for procedure.

Sleeve and pin

Ray, I had the same questions last month. If you use a stainless steel sleeve it will rust to the pin even if the pin is stainless. I went through major research with the machine shop and boat yard. I then had a teflon sleeve made along with a new pin. Cost me $50.00. I then set the new sleeve with 101 adhesive. prior to put the pin in the housing we used spray teflon on the inside of the bushing. If you look at my photo posting you will see the new sleeve and pin. BTW--The centerboard works so much better now. Also, ensure you adjust the uphaul line with the centerboard all the way down, not all the up or it will never go all the way down. Dave Royce Simply Magic
