Our young children will sleep in the V-berth. Wife and I will berth in the salon area, and are interested to know how anyone has set up a sleeping arrangement that can span to two sides of the salon. Please advise and with pics if possible. Just looking for ideas. Thanks.

Covertible Table

Queen Size Bed

O'day had
a "shelf" which slid out from the port settee and ended at the mast creating a double berth. When not in use it's tubular legs folded up and the whole thing slid under the settee cushions. The cushions for it stored in the quarter berth during the day, or in the v-berth for that matter. I have only seen the plans once and I apologize for not knowing where you can find them. The reason it only slid out to the mast was that it kept the walk-way open to the head for those nocturnal visits. The material was, I think, hardened pressed board or 1/4" plywood and would fit exactly in the space of the port settee when slid back. It's left edge was supported by the edge of the settee. Perhaps Rudy at D&R has the plans. Good luck, I think it would make your 28 a nicer cruising boat. Mike Pitterpat, O'day 28
