Has anyone built a bowsprit for a C22?

I am planning on building a bow sprit extension for my C22. I want to try and run closer to the wind with my asymetrical spin and was wondering if anyone else had done this. Ray

Got inboard tracks?

Assuming you do not have them, wouldn't inboard tracks be a better place to start?

Info in the archieves suggest

that adding a bowsprit is not a good idea as it upsets the balance that is engineered into the sailplan.

Bayard and Bob. Thanks for the info.

I have the inboards tracts, adjustable backstay and most all the other tricks. What I was after was cleanner air into the asy. spinnaker. I want a better upwind angle with the chute that the lack of foredeck allows now. I will look at the archive articules. Thanks for the replies. Ray
