mac 26 mast head sloop??? this one has me searching but no info. someone had a couple of Q's about sailing and tunnung one but im not sure its what he thinks it is

Does he mean the MacGregor 26? I think that boat is a factional rig instead of a masthead rig but it’s the only boat I can think of that might be called a Mac 26. In fact Mac 26 is a popular nickname for the boat. All the best, Robert Gainer

a regular Mac 26 (which is a fractional rig) that someone converted to a masthead rig.

When the 26M first came out it was reported to have about 2' taller mast than the 26X it replaced. Local dealer said that the factory would fit a shorter mast to boats that would be sailed in consistantly high wind areas, like San Francisco. A two foot shorter mast on an M would make it look a lot like a masthead rigged boat. Why not call the factory to find out for sure? http://www.macgregor26.com/

Well..you could
keep the masthead forestay and replace the fractional forestay and have a Mac 26 CUTTER! (probably need a bowsprit for this??)
