I am interested in knowing if this has happened to anyone else:When we recommissioned the boat this past spring and put the main on, we noticed that two of the Harken luff cars were missing. No evidence of tampering was found and no parts were found around the boat to indicate failure over the winter, however, it would have been impossible for anyone to steal them. The two missing cars were midway between the lower two batten cars and could not be removed without removing (and then replacing) the lower batten car too.As theft isn't a possibility and they were there last season, they must have somehow been destroyed over the New England winter. I should mention the mast was stepped during the winter while the boat stayed in and the cars, lower portion of the mast including the cars and the cockpit were all enclosed by the cover. The only explanation I can think of is some kind of defect, however, Harken disagrees and claims they have never had anything similar reported to them. I'm curious if anyone has any similar experience.DonIllusion H 40.5
