Has anyone heard anything on the Harken Cam-matic Ball Bearing Cleats (for the jib lines)?? Are they better than the Stock Racing Clamcleats?? Has anyone had problems with the stock Racing cleats abraiding your jib lines?
I've got to say that while I love my 270, I dislike the clamcleats. They abraid the jib sheet and I just had the red spring gate on the starboard side break. Given the amount spent, you'd think they'd put better sail handling hardware on.
I have replaced the demon clam cleats with a set of Harken Cams. I removed the stock cleats and drilled and tapped holes in the aluminum plate they were mounted on. The Harkens work great. Only had to plug one hole on each side.
