hardware compatibility

I have a new (for me) older C30 with a Raymarine a70d chartplotter and ST6000. My chartplotter does not show "heading" and I assume the heading sensor is not connected. Otherwise, all seems well. Has anyone upgraded a similar system to include a heading sensor?

A chart plotter will normally show the heading from the GPS data. I assume you are getting proper lat lon from the GPS so perhaps it is in the software set up on your unit. Heading sensors are normally just used with the autopilot but will sometime interface with the plotter as well. I would start by checking the plotters setup. Good luck

thx, my thoughts, too. I checked the setup yesterday. All looked okay but I am checking Raymarine's site this morning.
