Just wondering if anyone has had any issues getting their hand pump on the faucet of a 23.5 to work. We bought the boat a few months ago and just haven't really needed the faucet, but would like to use it eventualluy. The hoses appear to be all hooked up-just a little black and moldy on the inside. Would cleaning or replacing the hoses solve the problem? The pump handle goes up and down ok-but nothing comes out!

This is an old problem on all the water ballast models. Check for loose connections. Black junk indicates lack of use and that your system needs to be sanitized. You might want to consider replacing the pump with a whaler brand or Check the archives and this link for more information.

These pumps are pretty simple and you can take it a apart and maybe replace an o ring but really, there are better pumps out there for not much money that are just a set in.

The pumps have a bunch of o-rings that you can get at any good plumbing supply or bearing house. There are o-rings inside the handle as well to keep it from leaking.
If you try J. C . Whitnet the aoto parts house they have one the is the same as what you have and a whole lots less expensive, or you can opt for 12vdc electric.

I put new seals on my stock pump a couple of times but it continued to leak. I finally replaced it with a Whaler. No more problems.

I went through a full tank of water this season. That's 20 gal on the H260. Some of us do use the system.
