Hand holds inside the cabin

Has anyone added handholds on the ceiling inside the cabin of a Hunter 28? It seems like a good idea to have something to grab when the going gets rough or you are heeling alot. If not, any suggestions on the best way/place to add something to grab?

Personally......

....I wouldn't put anything on the ceiling of the cabin. #1, the liner is far too thin to support any kind of weight. #2, my head is far too close to the ceiling in the first place ( I'm 6'2" and I barely have room and my son is 6'6") If I'm going to keep the big guy as crew I better not find something else for him to bang his head on.

We mounted teak handrails...

... on our Hunter 33 (Quest kit) when we finished it. We used the same teak handrails that are used on the exterior and thru-bolted them. We really liked having these handholds on the underside of the cabin ceiling - and they were not in the way on our boat, being out toward the sides of the cabin ceiling close to the point where the ceiling curves down to become the sides of the cabin. however you mount handholds, they must be robust and be able to take a load of several hundred pounds which they might be subjected to if the boat was experiencing lively motion.

hmmm

Looking at my 27 I can't see the need for the rails. I mean it's small enough such that you can just palm the roof and or sides and maintain balance and if it's the kids your worried about- then as my father used to tell me- sit down. I don't know. If you mount them, then Joe has a good point-mount them with the understanding that someone will hang on them at some point in time. I guess this is more along the lines of a personal issue than anything else.
