14.300....Ship Track
I have checked in many times on 14.300 when traveling. They do offer ship track, although i never took them up on it. Not quite sure how it works other than someone posting your last known (called in) location on the internet and anyone interested can key in your call sign and know where you are/were.Also I receive weather FAX on HF. The output on my SSB ham rig for my speaker goes into the MIC input on my laptop. Then I can print out the weather reports and weather FAX as well as notice to mariners. And , of course, Ham radio is great company when you are the mood to gab. When you remove 'function' out of the equation, you still have lots of entertainment value. Many handicapped people, especially non sailing shut-ins,cruise vicariously with you.
