Halyards inside mast

Has anyone with a Vega got their halyards running inside the mast, and
if so, did you do the conversion yourself?
Any and all opinions on this subject welcomed.

Hi Peter

I have my halyards inside the mast but it entailed losing my mast when
the forestay attachement failed so I had to get a brand new mast! Sorry,
not much help and very expensive!

I read somewhere that having halyards in the mast requires holes that
make the boat more vulnerable in a knock down. The bouyancy of the
mast can actually work to help righting, whereas a mast with holes in
it will fill up with water and result in negative righting action.
