From previous posts it seems the halyard rollers under the forward part of the "windshield" cause problems and aren't needed anyway. I'm not even sure if the lines are supposed to run below or above the rollers, as there is nothing in the Hunter manual that describes this.
One post (Donalex) said he removed the shaft and rollers. That seems like a good idea to me, but how does one do that without removing the windshield?
The rollers are about 2 inches aft of the edge of the windshield, so there's no way to remove the screws holding the shaft support brackets in place.
The only way I can see to remove the shaft and rollers without altering or removing the windshield is to take a hacksaw blade to the shaft.
If anyone has done this, please let me know how they did it.
