Can anyone confirm is the sheaves on the 9.2 are rope friendly? Currently mine are of the wire/rope spliced variety and I need to replace them. I have replaced a rope one before, and wire/rope should be the same from a replacement perspective. My spin halyard broke inside the mast and it was all rope so I think I am okay. I bought line to replace it but now I may use it for my jib halyard as it is pretty dry.

I believe the spliced wire/rope use a different sheave in general. I had to replace mine on a different boat but similar vintage. (Bristol)

I'd get a pair of binoculars or a camera with a good zoom and ask your local rigger.

You may need to replace the sheaves because rope is a larger diameter (but you knew that). If you do replace them contact;

I have had him make sheaves for my S2 traveler and and for an Islander masthead sheaves. Good quality and fast.

According to Rigrite Kenyon sheaves are made for both. I will give all rope a try.

I replaced my wire/rope halyards with sta-set. Works fine. When I had the mast down two yrs ago. I looked at the sheaves and pulled some rope through them. Both myself and rigger thought it would be fine
