Hi there -- Got a question about cleating off halyards on a C22. The PO of my boat installed regular horn cleats on both sides of the boat so that the halyards could be cleated off from the cockpit. I find tying the halyards off when singled handed a real pain because of trying to keep the tiller straight etc. I'm thinking of using a different cleat. Specifically a Harken #150 cam-cleat with a #328 fairlead to do the job instead. I was looking at rope clutches but they're a little more than I wanted to spend. So, here is my question: What do people use? Anyone using the cam-cleats? Do they work well? Any other suggestions? Any help MUCH appreciated, Pat

Cam cleats and clutches

I found a fantastic deal on some clutches (used) so I use them AND cam cleats. Comes in very handy as I have to use one winch for two halyards - the clutch is before the winch & cam cleats after. Good luck! LaDonna
