Halyard and sheet length for Hunter 30

Hello,I recently bought a 1979 Hunter 30, and am in the process of getting it seaworthy. One thing I need to do is replace the jib and main halyards, along with the jib and main sheets. Can anyone give me an idea of the correct length for these lines?Regards,David.

Check this form info, boat spec'c for your info. It will give you mast hight ect. the jib sheets should be 1 1/2 time the length of your boat.

Here's what to do

FWIW, rig the new sails with your old halyards/sheets, for now. Once you are satisfied with the way you have it rigged, then measure for the proper length off of the old halyards/sheets and go buy your new ones. Installation will still be easy. Seems that there would be no guessing that way. And then they would be "customized".

I would go with 100'

My 1979 Hunter 30' mast stands 38 1/2 feet.2 x 38.5= 77' + line to the cockpit 20' = 97"buy 100'Cut the shackle off the old line. Stich with thread the bitter end of the new line and tape.DO NOT JUST USE TAPE OR YOU WILL LOSE THE JOINT.Slowly pull through and done.Go to ebay and type in halyard. Ball park number....

...would be 2.5 X mast height. BTW when you splice in the eye for the shackle, use a long eye splice. That way you can remove or change the shackle without having to cut it off next time.
