Hairline Cracks in Hull Gelcoat

My 1987 Hunter 28.5 has developed at least three hairline cracks. These cracks are located about at the waterline, are anywhere from five (5) to nine (9) inches in length, and are irregular in their shape (not the the more common spiderweb pattern seen on deck surfaces). Two of the cracks are on opposite sides of the hull about 11 feet aft of the bow; the third, which I noticed just today, is smaller and located about six inches from the bow on the starboard side. These appear to be gel coat only as there is no leakage visible in the bilge (which stays dry as a bone). Also, the surrounding areas show no signs of structural deterioration (i.e., deep blisters). I first noticed this about one month ago and have been monitoring the situation to track the problem. Has anyone out there experienced this problem and how have you resolved it? Is this the forerunner of more significant problems? If the Hunter rep is monitoring this net, what advice does the company offer. Many thanks.
