The more I looked at the wire, especially in the light you could see "barber poles" of light rust down most of the wires. . .and I untwisted the braid near the ends and I could see the core(?) was discoloring under the outer wrap. . .and finally, after one local rigger showed me his shop and new wire. . .wow, I thought mine looked good and shiny. . .this spool would blind you in the light 
Only bad part, he wanted $3.50 a foot plus labor and eye's. . .pretty steep in my book, compared to RiggingOnly. . .need to shop around more, would prefer it done local (so I have someone to yell a if it breaks). . .just need to find someone who is closer to $2.50 a foot
I also checked each end of the head stay under the furler foil. . .from what I can see, I saw no rust weeping or unraveling. . .I guess she be good for now :neutral:
