It allows you to power your Air Conditioning Panel (Line #2) with your AC side (Line #1). i.e. If you only plug one 30a shore cable in you can cross that over and power up your Air Conditioners.

Ok great thanks. What about the AC Relay breaker?

When you use the parallel circuit, you can run both AC's but be cautious that you don't run too much at one time and create an over current situation.

What about the AC Relay breaker?
To have 2 or more AC on a boat you need a ...

AC Relay Panel [ Really AC Pump Relay Panel ]

Why?

With Both AC's running buy their individual Theromsats, one AC may turn off, but the other is running.

That AC Relay Panel assures the Cooling Water pump continues to Run for either situation.

Both AC's off, Pump goes OFF.

Jim nailed it. The relay operates the sea water pump that feeds the AC units. On our boat the relay must be on before turning on either/both AC units. If you fail to turn on the relay, but turn on the AC units, the pump will not run and the AC units will run until they freeze up. Likewise, even though you turn the relay on, it will start only after one or both units are turned on.

As far the power selection goes, our boat is setup for 60 amps of shore power with two 30 amp shore power plugs. I've never operated our boat with 60 amps of shore power and have always managed our consumption to 30 amps. Those switches allow you to operate the boat with 60 amps of shore power, if needed. Running both AC units (25 amps), water heater (10 amps), microwave (10 amps), entertainment (5 amps), charger (5+ amps), will require 60 amps of service.

As a footnote, after turning on either/both systems I always check immediately for water flow out of the sea water discharge ports just to make sure the system is operating normally. If no water flow, shut everything off and begin trouble shooting. The system(s) will freeze up if left running without adequate water flow. You're welcome.
