Hi
The noise insulation on the engine cover on my 1999 Hunter 410 came loose in some areas. I'd like to replace it. Unfortunately the boat is far away and I'd like to prepare everything to get that job quickly done when being on the boat for the next time.

I like to know how thick the original insulation is, to make sure I'm ordering the right material.

Has anybody replaced the insulation on his boat?
Any recomendation / hint would be highly appreciated!

Thanks
Marco

Be sure to seal the seam where the motor hood meets the deck. That made a big diff on my 376.

Bob,
thank you for sharing your experience. The cover gasket is still there an looks fine. I think the insulation is a whool type and came loose. I just like to replace it to avoid anything goes in to the moving parts. But I need to know the thickness of the material. Cell foam insulation is availabe in 1/2", 1" etc. I doubt it is more than 1" but need to be sure.

Marco. On my boat the seal gasket wasn't fitting flush and there were gaps. I put a small inner insulation strip on the inside on the floor side. Really helped.
Bob.

Dave, I think SBO has them in their product range. I have very limited internet access right now and can't doublecheck but I think I have seen it there. Good luck.
