H38 Traveler "Upper Sheave" - can anybody post a picture or explain?

Hello folks! I just recently bought a Hunter 38 2005 and am pretty excited about it! Now going through the long list of what i need to fix/upgrade and found one thing that puzzles me:

Previous owner seem to remove what is called "upper sheaves" on both sides of mainsheet traveler, not sure why exactly, probably was trying to fight with leaks from bimini. This should probably be the small block/sheave that helps the traveler line to go down to the side of the arch.

Now I have really hard time figuring out what should be there. Obviously it works right now but seem to start damaging the traveler lines to always be in contact with steel edge.

Can somebody post a picture or explain of how it should be done originally? I am looking for parts to fix it but none of the blocks for sale seem to fit this place.

Really appreciate it!

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new 38!!

I had a 2004 Hunter 386 and now 2005 Hunter 46. Same part on nearly all the Hunter boats with the traveler on the arch. Looks like you are missing the upper sheave as shown in the manual diagram and in the photo on my 46. The manual has no information on it. Just left my boat but will return tomorrow to take a detailed photo of the stand up sheave tomorrow and post.

Thank you
Here are a couple of pics I just snapped of my 2007 H38. I'm on the boat for at least the next 3 weeks so lmk if you need more information. I'm in Ft. Pierce currently and it looks like my departure for the Keys is delayed (see my own rigging woes) so if you're nearby come look.
Thank you for the pictures! It does not look like anything close to what is in schemas in manual! That is probably why I got confused with all this setup! Seems like just a harken upright block mounted upside down :)

This YouTube video shows the upper sheaves (14) Hunter Sailboat Cockpit Arch - YouTube. Are they missing on both sides?
Thanks for the reply and trying to help! I watched this video a couple of times, they show the side blocks but not the upper sheaves there. Or do I miss something?

Yeah both blocks are removed, that would be super easy to match if i had at least one in hand =) I also tried to look at other Hunters in the marina but most of them have this part covered with canvas and I am not very comfortable to go to somebody's else boat and start uncover their arches without the owner, you know.

I think I will try to get those Harken blocks and try to fit them 2.25 given they are not super expensive and I should be able to return them if they are not good fit.

It’s not a great picture but in the upper right corner of you zoom in you can see the block that makes the turn.
I will keep looking to see if I can find a better picture. I will be at the boat on Friday for launch and will try to remember to take a better shot for you.
