I saw a post asking about the prop shaft packing for the H37C stuffing box. It is 1/4". That is one fourth of one inch in case the numerics come out wrong. Unless you want to spring for a PSS Dripless Seal I highly recommend GFO packing(Related Link). I have not had a drip in the four seasons that I used it.

GFO packing

Ed, I just bought some GFO shaft packing for my 200 H340. Do you use the PTFE shaft lubricant with GFO? Can you make the stuffing box really drip-free or do you adjust it for an occassional drip? Any advice would be appreciated.

Drip free.

I once motored the 44 miles across Lake Erie in a dead calm John. I checked the shaft repeatedly to see if there was heat buildup. It was warm but not hot to the touch. I have mine adjusted for no drip. But I hate to recommend that, maybe our shaft materials are different. And my old 2QM20 is a low RPM motor, around 2300 rpm at 6 knots. I would follow the instructions on the box.
