Finally she goes back in the water after 2 seasons. I was supposed to launch on Friday but Bill put a hold on things until Tuesday. As the images show she has gone through a major reconfiguration; there are still a few more to complete but I have to get in at least a little sailing this year. As you can see they are before/after images, I will try to put a full article in the Boat Modification section with more explanations and images in the near future.

Beutiful modificaton, but I love the original forward sink/vanity. Did you move it or just chuck it?

Very impressive! And a lot of work. I really like your v-berth changes. And the doors above the salon bench and behind the sink and stove are a great touch.

Not sure that I understand the radical changes to the port salon. Especially removing the vanity and installing electronics back there. And I often sit and work at the nav station. At first I thought you made a longer salon bench. But then I see you moved the bulkhead forward. So is it longer? And are you a cabinet maker?

I love the warmth you have added to your wood work and though I am not completely familar with the layout of the 37, (mine is a C33), I love the open space feeling. Enjoy the fruits of your labor. David

Hi Ed,
Yes, the port Berth/Sofa is now a little longer than the Starboard. There is a small addition to the aft bulkhead to accommodate a cabin heater for the cooler months. As for the loss of the chart table; I'm trying to figure how to make a stowable stool. Next project is the aft cabin and which I'm thinking to change to storage and nav station with desk. No cabinetry experience just a willingness to try.

Robert,
I've done extensive house building ,cabinet and furniture making most of my life and and am in the process of "redoing" my own 37C. This redo looks really great. Very impressed. Commitment and willingness can do nothing but add to your experience. Hope you don't mind me using some of your ideas.
Good luck on the water.

As an aside we used to have, on the old SBO, a "Photo Forum" where the projects were saved. Those can still be seen by selecting "Boat Info" and the "Owner Modfications" in the tabs at the top of this panel. Now I fear that projects like Robert's will be hard to find because it is part of a normal post. What say ye' Phil?

Agree with Ed. You have done a fantastic job of her and deserve your own section in the photo forums. An inspiration to the rest of us. Thanks.

I will post to the Owners Modification site once I have organized a sequential line of progress and added a few lines of comments as to some of the reasons why I made the changes.
