Hi everyone.
I thougt it can be interesting to collect data of different speeds and windangeles we can get with our Hunter 36. So we can compare our own trim with others.

I am spesually interesed in performance clouseauled,

There is a few things we must remember to inform about.
Rigging. Conventional or furling and sailtypes.
Speed trough water. SOG is nor so interesting.
Windangel and how it har been mesured. (Raymarine windinstrument).
Seaconditions and windconditions.
Other..

2006 Hunter 36 with mainsail OEM furling sail and OEM 110 jib. Also have a Campbell Sailor Propeller 3 blade fix prop.
I get about 60-75% of the winds speed throughout the spectrum of angles.
1. I can pinch to within 18 degrees - 4 knots in anything over 10 knots of wind.
2. Easily get to 6.5 from 20-60 degrees in over 11 knots of wind.
a. 5-10 knots of wind, I can get around 3.5-5.7 knots.
3. 7.2-7.4 from 60-120 degrees (sweet spot)
4. DDW 180-120.. Varies but around 5 knots without whisker pole.
a. With whisker pole moves up to around 6 -6.5 knots in over 10 knots of wind.
b. Asymmetrical Sail - Boat moves nicely from 80-180 degrees in 5-15 knots. I can get to hull speed 7.5 knots over 10 knots of wind. Mainsail is reefed to 1/2. 120 degrees apparent wind is the sweet spot.
When I take her out in the ocean with short waves frequency and 3-4 foot waves subtract almost a knot from the above figures.
Full Raymarine package with 2 GPS, C-80s and handheld. All speeds are boat speed.

Hi MsEmee. Fine you mentioned the propeller wich I forgot to take into account. I think your figures are very helpfull to compare my own with. Thanks.

I have just been out sailing in very light winds and i managed 3,9 knots in 7.7 apperent wind with 30 degrees to the apperent wind. Mesured on the wind instrument. I have a conventional main (no furling) and a folding prop and the water was flat.
