H36 Q-berth
That is quite a revelation. I never realized the H36 was so different from my H37C(http://kb.sailboatowners.com/sbo/image/display?name=Hunter/36_80-82plan.gif&type=boatpic). From the plan it is hard to see what is between the nav station and the bulkhead on the starboard side. I guess you would be giving up a large locker at the minimum. Basically it would be similar to the H37C but on the other side since our galleys are on opposite sides.Cut out the bulkhead and reinforce it, add one as close to the engine as possible, and put in a platform. On the H37C we have a small cabinet and some floorspace that you would not have the length for. The H37C platform is built over the fuel tank. Later models had a removable panel for engine access from the side. Just a couple of ideas without ever having seen one close up.
