On my H34 the grid structure is tabbed to the hull along it's upper edge everywhere that I could see (including in the aft Stbd locker). A couple weeks ago I removed the carpet in the aft port berth to replace it and found that in this place, there is no fiberglass tabing. The grid is not very well bonded either as I could slip a thin blade between hull & grid... strange, could the worked have forgot to do this job?! I would be curious to see if this is like that only on mine of if it is general.
Anyway the boat as held fine for the last 30 years but I did not like the situation so I added 3 strip of 24oz roving. Preparation of the surface is annoying because of all the glue & gelcoat in the shallows of the hull roving, but once cleaned the glassing itself is piece of cake in this location

Here's a shot with the new carpet, this time backed by a layer of foam to reduce heat inside the cabin (dark blue hull attrack sun quite a bit!)
