H34 max RPM -Yanmar 3G

HelloAs I fiddle with my throttle linkage I am getting more RPM on my Yanmar 3GM (20 horse)What is typical max RPM on Hunter 34 with 2 bladed prop?ThanksJim in Dallas

On my 335 the yard advised about 2800 as the upper end for cruising with about 3300-3600 for short periods

3GM30

I have never operated my 3GM30 on my 340 above 2850 RPM. I have a 2 blade 16 X 13 prop. It gets very inefficiengt and begins to cavitate without any significant increase in speed above 2850. I am more likely to run at 2200 to 2600 RPM.

Max Power

The spec sheet I have for my 3GMF 22 shows maximum torque at about 3300 RPM. I have a 15 x 15 prop on my '85 H34 and have run at 3200. We run at 3000 quite often. Must be in a hurry I guess. Allan

I find I can't get anywhere near 6 knots unless I run at 3000 rpm (which the Yanmar manual says is quite ok).Derek
