Well my H34 days are over. Hurricane Irma caused Progressive Insurance to total the boat. They sent me a check... actually a direct deposit and are going to send a barge and chop up the boat behind our house... I think I may try to video tape this..... Anyway. This has been a great place for me to learn and share knowledge. Thank You all.

The Ins company is allowing me to remove anything I want from the boat so if anyone wants something off it for pretty much whatever you think maybe an almost fair value. Please let me know. I put something in the Gear Ad...

I wouldn't be able to film the removal or destruction.
Please tell me about any winches that are available .
Send a PM.

If you have any solid pieces of teak you can demo that would be worth something. You can sell it at the Marine Trading Post in PC.

sorry to here about the loss of your boat.
hopefully something positive can be gained from your loss.
Parts from that vintage hunter are hard to find. I know first hand when my h34 was severely damaged by hurricane Sandy in nj when it hit our coastline…. Took me years to find replacement parts. Almost bought a damaged donor boat for parts.

Anyway perhaps it if you have any photos of the boat to allow people to see what might still be salvageable could help

again very sorry for your loss.

Do you have a rigid vang on the boat ( Seldon or Haurhauer)?

I am looking for a cheap way to get rid of my topping lift.

PM me if you have one…

Thanks,

Greg

Only cabin sole, which is so so at best plus the cabinetry which is pretty good... some excellent. However, recovering from cervical spine surgery and could begin to do that sort of thing.

Jon,

I'm really sorry to hear about the loss of your H34. From your previous posts I know you put a lot of effort into maintaining her. Best of luck in the future.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your boat. My Hunter 33.5 was totaled after Katrina. I was actually relieved that it was totaled because I was repairing my house and getting my business back on line; no time for dealing with boat repairs that would have taken forever in yards that were overwhelmed. Still, it was tough losing the boat. Hopefully you did OK on home front and not dealing with extensive damage. I chartered boats for seven years after the storm and purchased my present boat in 2012. Never know, there may be another boat out there waiting for you. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Ouch! Sorry to hear of the loss! That's going to be tough to watch but I couldn't not watch it!
  • Is that hose on the port side cabinetry suitable for exhaust? I'm looking for something larger than 1.5" but no more than 2"
  • I'd be interested in some lines for running rigging
  • If the bilge pump is automatic I'd be interested
  • 3-4 interior lights and on board battery charger might be nice
I'd put the cushions on ebay. They'd probably be worth at least $2000

@PGIJon That is really sad to hear about the loss of your boat.
What electronics do you have that might be worth salvaging? Do you have an autopilot, any displays?
I may also be interested in the breaker panel.
